The Senior Software Manager will have overall accountability for development of low level kernel driver portions of our MacOS driver stack. Key targets include functionality, usability, stability and performance through the entire software life cycle, along with development of testing and simulation capabilities. A key element of this role is responsiveness to the customer and urgent issues as they arise. The position will be located in Markham, Ontario, and will oversee onsite and remote teams in various geographic regions. The ideal candidate must be familiar with a variety of Software Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures, and have extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

The Senior Software Manager will lead and direct the work of senior technical staff in the following areas:

Monitor and review design of the macOS kernel software features to ensure that the requirements established have been met

Ensure that innovation, stability, performance and features are managed relative to the business requirements

Recommend and implement usage of current software development technologies and methodologies and bring best practices to the team

Lead iterative design, rapid prototyping and full implementation of core graphics software objectives

Develop end-to-end project plans and road maps to take project from initiation to completion

Establish relevant and beneficial metrics that monitor, report and drive business results

Oversee code reviews with teams to ensure optimal business and performance outcomes

Manage Engineering staff, including hiring, training, customer interaction, staff development, appraisals, and retention.

Develop team members technical and leadership skills to foster internal promotability and career development opportunity

Education and credentials

Bachelors, Master s or PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

At least 15 years software engineering experience with 8 years of progressive management experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience with macOS software development environments

Low level device drivers and OS kernel experience (macOS preferred, or Linux/Windows)

Knowledge of GPU and CPU architectures is a significant asset

Experience in GPU programming, and/or parallel and asynchronous processing using APIs such as Metal, OpenCL, CUDA, OpenGL, DirectX, D3D, or Mantle is highly desirable

Tactfully address customer requests with strict deadlines and high quality deliverables

Strong willingness to develop a team culture that drives key customer issues to resolution, within the company and at the customer site

Managed medium size (10+) teams successfully

Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment, and work effectively with a global team

Prior experience with scheduling , including capacity planning and execution on a wide variety of concurrent software engineering initiatives

Ability to manage new product initiatives and support production environment simultaneously

Solid understanding of end-to-end software products and how they make the business successful

Ability to foster a creative and collaborative climate with cross-functional groups, while providing leadership that results in clearly measurable quality criteria and plans

Skilled at gathering, analyzing, and monitoring progress and trends to ultimately reduce risk and improve quality of deliverables to our customers

Demonstrated track record working with other engineering and non-engineering departments to achieve business goals

Commitment to bringing new approaches and ideas to the team and influence teams with a consistently positive attitude

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to enable successful communication with business partners, senior executives, cross-functional counterparts and staff

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
