Senior Human Resources Business Partner, Human Resources

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior HR Business Partner is responsible for the management of specific Human Resources functions and services within the Central LHIN. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Senior Business Partner will provide effective Human Resources services to support the organization s strategic initiatives. The primary areas of responsibility will include labour relations, scheduling and implementation of human resources best practices to build and retain an engaged workforce, and build capacity at the frontline and leadership levels.

The Senior HR Business Partner will also provide human resources advice and guidance to client managers on a broad range of HR related issues and policies, while addressing day-to-day employee issues within their assigned client group. The Senior HR Business Partner also informs and works collaboratively with HR subject matter experts on innovative solutions to issues.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Human Resources advice and guidance to client managers to address day-to-day issues and interpret legal, regulatory, union and operational requirements
  • Develops, implements and communicates Human Resources policies, programs and procedures consistent with business plan objectives, employment legislation and best practice.
  • Set appropriate standards for Human Resources service delivery and monitor/evaluate the performance of Human Resources processes/services, seek ongoing improvements
  • Provide support to managers on the implementation of their business plans
  • Synthesizes information from a variety of sources to prepare and distribute management information reports and responses to issues and questions raised at more senior levels of the Central LHIN
  • Provide employee and labour relations guidance to line managers to address employee behavior and performance issues using problem solving and dispute resolution strategies, Central LHIN policies, procedures, and sound judgement that help resolve problems quickly
  • Prepare for and assist with the grievance process up to and including arbitration
  • Prepare for and participate in Collective Bargaining
  • Conduct both straightforward and complex workplace investigations with respect to such issues as harassment, human rights code violations and employment complaints and recommend options for resolving issues
  • Meet with managers/directors to gather, collect, and discuss information related to employee grievances and/or complaints (eg. Termination of employment, harassment, health and safety concerns, workplace safety and insurance benefits, etc.)
  • Development of HR policies, procedures and programs
  • Prepare reports, education and presentations related to key workplace relations issues to support organizational continuous learningEnsure legislative compliance (employment standards, health and safety, human rights, etc)
  • Participate on or lead specific Human Resources projects, focus groups and internal committees
  • Manage the full recruitment process life-cycle and talent pipeline for non-unionized staff

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Human Resources, Labour or Industrial Relations
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)
  • Current Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) membership in good standing
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in the Healthcare or Public sector
  • Exceptional analytical and information seeking skills that contribute to effective decision making and strategic planning and execution of action plans that deliver results and motivate individuals for greater performance excellence
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of leaders and stakeholders with demonstrated success in moving key stakeholders to positive resolution and to facilitate and coach clinical areas on change initiatives
  • Self-directed, courageous, and highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience managing competing demands in a fast-paced, multi-site, multi-disciplinary health care environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal, facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge and ability to facilitate meetings, conduct effective briefings and presentations with stakeholders who reflect the full range of diverse objectives

This position is located at the Central LHIN headquarters in
Markham
, Ontario. There may be requirement for occasional travel to other sites across the Central LHIN.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
